it's chinese new year. big whoop.
the only nice thing about it is the food, but even that has limits. i'm so glad the soccer comp finished before cny, coz i dont think i'll be able to run for a while :) i meant only to have 2 pineapple tarts this morning but before i even registered the taste they were both gone, so i had another 2 :D
had a reunion yesterday, and it was ... *hear the crickets chirp* it didn't seem so bad when everyone was there, when we were little and running all over the place with sparklers.
at least the money is good. we pre-spent our angpao money yesterday - went to vivo with jie and mum to watch the savages, which is a movie that i wouldn't really want to watch normally. it's kinda very realistic and i think i watch movies to escape from reality for a little while so i didn't really enjoy it. plus it was about death and dying. yeh. i was SUPPOSED to stay home yesterday and get down to making my cards BUT a certain someone begged me to go shopping (which is an extremely rare occurance) so i thought i'd better go with her in case she wasn't feeling well and suddenly have some kinda of breakdown while shopping. so we went to vivo, and bought tons of stuff at (dare i say it) forever 21 after much scouring.
traditions are silly, especially when you don't know what you do things for. then you start picking and choosing which traditions suit you best like buying new clothes and not cleaning the house for the first few days or whichever, and after a while the entire meaning is lost.
i can't believe you said you like cny better than Christmas.
anyway, so today we had lunch at my grandparents place, collected money, lingered for like 2 seconds and went home. played mahjong with dad et la soeurs with the minisized tiles we have :D jie said it was to make sure we dont embarass ourselves on the 16th when we have our gathering HEH.
