Jehovah Nissi - The Lord is our Banner
it's all coming together now, i feel.
the timing is impeccable, as always.
we prayer walked the school. like awesome. prayed like never before. earlier that day during the morning prayer i got this from God:
'And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints' ephesians 6:18
i'm just reminded again of how powerful our prayers are, and powerful praying is.. i mean Jesus's last actions before he got arrested was to pray. if it wasnt that important, he wouldnt have wasted his time by spending his last hours doing it. it's like speaking in the physical world and when the words leave your lips it changes something in the spiritual realm which changes something in the physical when the words come back. it's totally awesome.
'For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms' ephesians 6:12
the only way we can fight against spiritual forces is by praying - connecting with God, because it's the only part of us that can reach there. which is why words are so important even if it isn't praying. our words carry weight and you can't just fling them around coz ppl will get hurt.
just remembered what i saw during the jan camp - the soldier dressed ready for battle with a whole host of an army behind him and this is what i feel we're up to now.. coming into the 3rd week of Prayer and Fast - Opposition and Deliverance. and after prep camp and the spritual high there's the tendency to just stop there or even fall back so it's all the more important that we start praying now.
coz the devil will seek to steal kill and destroy, especially when we start taking things to a higher level with God. it gets scared when we become powerful and begin actively using the power that God gives to us.
another song that fits the spirit of things- why council sang this to a funeral march is beyond me, but whatever =)
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle see his banners go!
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.
At the sign of triumph Satan's host doth flee;
on then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
one in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
but the church of Jesus constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;
we have Christ's own promise, and that cannot fail.
Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King,
this through countless ages men and angels sing.
